RiveriaMan, with reference to your comment on the Mesh Modification, this is a good mod if it prevents and naturally reduces cost in the future. Just a comment we had the “Defect” Condenser changed on our J11A and I actually bought Steel Mesh which I still have but never done the job like on our Juke.
The “Opening” on the J11A is way way Bigger than the new J11B which it appears you have. I can remember asking our Dealer about the Mesh Mod on our new J11B and being Nissan they were worried about “Overheating / Restrictions” as the Space is smaller. There are also more Plastic Vanes which reduces the Space for objects, but S_ _ _ happens. I believe also it was mentioned that there is an automatic Vane System included also (now I could well be wrong here, perhaps Lewis has some knowledge on this). Just information Dave 😏

Hi Dave I know what you mean and had already noticed the significant difference between 2014 and 2017 front grills, I am in two minds for this reason reduced entry area to start with, and that air does need to get in, against protecting my new investment which went in today, so nice and chilly in the cabin now. But the main fail point was at the very bottom corner but was this stone or a failure so would any protection help here anyway. Also where do you draw the line as more stones are likely to hit my windscreen so then do I put some Mad Max protection device over that? :-)

RiveriaMan, tend to agree and the corner area is normally pretty difficult to Solder / Braze or Weld anyway. I checked ours with a Toolmakers Magnified Light and really could not find any gouge marks from stones which is a positive, but again you never know ! There are so many Mesh Options around Diamond Shaped Plastic / Steel Large and Small it is difficult to get a match with the existing and it can then tend to look odd - I think I will buy a new QQ then the problem is solved 😁 - Dave 😉
Some consideration might be needed for the New J12 :

I didn't watch the mobile fitter working on mine. Although he showed me the mesh. That was much like a heavy duty chicken wire really...likely galvanised.

I could always go the whole hog, and protect everything Nissan produced and ensure that I never have a stone chipped windscreen, bonnet, cracked headlight, or destroyed AC condenser ever again.

Mine is a 2017 car that lost its Condenser (leaky) at about 30 months during last winter. I don't use A/C in winter which maybe a habit I need to change..
You need to use the aircon regularly as the refrigerant contains a lubricant that stops the seals drying out, you can lose up to 10% of the refrigerant every year even in a system that is running perfectly so use it or lose it ;)
