Park Assist Parking on pavements

Hi guys,

I have been trying to test out parallel parking with park assist. But the system seems very keen to put me on the pavement before suggesting I switch from reverse to forward. Should I leave it completely to itself or should I get involved when I think it has reversed enough already?
Cheers

Hi, we have used this system on our old J11A model and now the new J11B model. IMHO it worked fine but you have to keep your Hands “OFF” the Wheel, let it do what it has to do and just follow the instructions Gears / Braking etc. I would play around with it in a quiet road or parking area, which is what our Sales Guy suggested. I do not use this frequently as the German drivers do not like hanging around while you make an Auto Park you get the polite Horns & Fingers - Best of Luck 🙂

PS : No Way should the System put you over the Pavement (or contact your Dealer) but be very careful as Damaged Alloy Wheels “Cost” to get repaired (if you have them).

I suspect there is a calibration problem relating to video content in view. What the camera's (+ sensors) see and what the control system decides to do about it, is not...lets say synchronised.

Unfortunately I found with 360deg cameras it was SO much easier and quicker to park manually than use Park Assist. So I stopped using it.
