I would like to put in a auto dimming and homelink capable mirror to replace the standard. Can anyone tell me if the wiring is already under the large case behind the rear view mirror and how to get at it.

Don’t know what "homelink capable" means but if you have a J11B, I would suspect your mirror is already auto dimming

Cmabus, firstly welcome to the Forum. We have had a QQ J11A Tekna & now a J11B Tekna + and both had the Auto Dim Feature. I think you will find that on the Visia model it is not included. Now regarding the Wiring I would think a contact with your Dealer would be worthwhile, you might be lucky. Here are a couple of attachments - Dave

In canada we have 3 levels of the Qashqai, I have the middle which has the manual mirror. Wanting to upgrade just the mirror. $255. at the dealer.

homelink is the bluetooth connection to open the garage door.

Sorry for my earlier response I assumed you were in Europe or the UK. I haven’t been to Canada since 1980 but a guy I stayed with had a “thing” in his car that opened the garage door remotely even then !!

Mike, thanks for bringing this point up. I was back & forth to the US a lot over the years (work) and what they had available even in the early days was amazing.
If of interest I found a couple of articles that might help you understand the “Homelink” Setup. It is amazing the options the US & Canada get as options in their QQ’s (Rogue’s) compared to the UK & Europe - Dave
Thanks guys, We didn't get the qashqai until 2017. So it looks like i will have to go to the dealer to pry out any info on the wiring.

As an alternative, with my present car I added a £25 gadget to the garage door opener and can now say "OK Google, Open the Garage Door" - might be an alternative solution for you?
