Hi everyone,
Recently my passenger door has stopped opening from the inside. I have tried locking and unlocking etc but makes no difference. Has anyone else had this problem and know the solution?

So your key and external pax side button opens it?

Had it happen on my 2009 a couple of times, a liberal spraying of the mechanism inside the door frame with WD40 was needed. Spray in all directions into the hole where the lock is as a first step.

I was able to undo the screws holding the lock to the door frame and so also spray a wider area.

Until I did that the passenger had to wind the window down and reach for the exterior handle to open the door.

Hi,
There is no child lock on the front passenger door. I saw another post where it said to undo the 3 screws at the side of the door and to see if there is a child lock mechanism inside the panelling but this was not the case. I rang nissan and asked if it is covered by the 3 year warranty and they said yes as long as it hasn't been damaged by poor handling. so i might go down that route. I just would be embarrassed is it turned out to be something simple i could have fixed.

Just had the same problem. Initially found reports of removing the three screws and reset the child lock through the opening, but I couldnt see any switch. So took the door apart and removed the whole lock, to find that there is now a plastic cover around the lock which covers the child lock switch - but its still there. Reset the switch, and fixed a small piece of plastic in the hole to stop it from switching again.

Hi, new member to the forum.

After suffering with an intermittent NSF sticking lock I found a few bits of info on the forum.

Below is what I've found.

The front locks have an odd child lock feature, but this is covered by a two piece plastic cover which makes access to unstick it impossible, once the covers are removed you can see the sliding mechanism (see attached pics). I say odd in that this moves when the central locking is activated (so part of the main lock) but it also disables the cable running to the inside handle just like a child lock. So if this sticks in the wrong position there is no tension on the cable and the lock won't open from the inside.

Note that the door panel has an indentation right above the mechanism so one could leave off the bottom plastic cover, drill the panel and have access to free the mechanism should the lock stick again, you might also be able to access the slider via the locking mount using a thin piece of hooked metal to move it without having to take off the door panel again.

A non functional door latch on the front doors is an MOT failure, so fix before taking it in!

Hope this helps.
