Picked up a month ago already been back in for ECU problem stop start works when it feels like it even after I have drove 40 miles sometimes it won't work. Dealer said loose fuse they supposedly sorted it worked for 1 day now stop start not working again do they have a separate battery

There are so many different criteria as to when the stop start will come in to force I really don't know how an owner is supposed to know when it should cut in or not....external temperature, electrical load, engine temperature etc etc

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't...same as with other cars I've had.

Unless it comes up with an error on the dash I'm not worried.

well Yesterday i drove 100 miles stop start worked drove back only radio on and the stop start never kicked in once can someone tell me is this normal all other cars i have had if the battery needs some charge to get the system working once it is it stays working. i think this may be a problem

My J11 Tekna will go days without doing it then will do it at every traffic light. As I understand it it’s all about battery, condition and load. If the AC is on, very little chance it will activate.. just a blower and it might. But that’s why they use these deep cell/deep cycle batteries for cars with stop start designed to give steady output for long periods.. standard batteries just couldn’t cope with start stop. Our Kia Rio will only activate stop start with a fully trickle charged battery.. so hardly ever!
