First post! Had car for only 2 months - all knowledge has come from this site so a big thanks.

What a mine field -chosing a glowplug.
My qashqai is a 360- registered April 2013
DCI 1.5 diesel . Its a j10 , with 110hp.

Many auto part sites have the glowplug part number as 1106500QAF

Is this right??

The products to chose from have different lengths between plug types and also there's a choice of 11v or 4v and some comply to euro 5 and some do not.

Do I buy double coil , high speed , post heating , yada yada..its important that I do not compromise the heater circuit for the dpf regen and egr

For background if interested ....
I have the P0380 circuit fault following a EML limp mode due to a boost pipe failure.
Boost pipe replaced , EML reset and driving but poorly.
Got a code reader and have a p0380 fault , i didnt worry too much. However a few days later after fuel economy going down , i checked code reader again and noticed the dpf pressure out of range , fuel economy had gone from 64 to 43 !!!!!

I intend to replace heater relay as well as glowplugs.

I Don't want to go to nissan until I have cleared the p0380 and tried a DPF regen. I know the self regen probably isn't working due to the faulty glowplug heater circuit.

Nb - I drove in 3rd at 2500rpm for about 5miles and it did reduce the DPF pressure reading slightly but nowhere near what it needs to be .

Anyway .. this i just a post asking for the correct glowplugs please

Hi, new to the forum but have been a stealth visitor for answers.

Can I ask, have you found the correct type of Glow Plugs?

I've had trouble with mine and gone through 2 sets. There's a number of options but I was informed there's essentially 2 types, thick and thin tips. Tried the thick, no good, tried the thin, but this cold weather is proving difficult to start so guessing the have failed..... they weren't Bosch....mistake I think.

So can I ask which type you bought??

Look at the answer above your post. Have you changed your fuel filter lately?.

Hi Andy,
Regards the filter, about a year ago was last changed.
I had read that the non return valve can go? Is that what your thinking?
But I had no real issues during the warmer weather...just cold, cold starts.

Regards the plugs you link above, I was hoping the OP could confirm that set solved his issues.
Have you used them yourself?

Thanks.

Yes had them fitted in my partners j10 2yrs ago as for the fuel filter. If you got air in the fuel lines that also causes the starting problems. As does the gloplug heater

Great, thanks for confirming.
The relay was on my mind also, do you know of an easy, home based way of testing the relay?
I was going to start with the plugs, remove them, test their resistance.

Yes 12v may melt the glo tip. So get the correct 1s fitted asap and dont drive with the 12v in as you may have trouble getting them out to replace
