And that's a whole lot of zero byte files, confirming what you already know.

Sorry, have run out of ideas!

I'll have a go at the weekend to try to get the USB socket out between the seats for a look...

Iirc it's just over 16Gb for a full update, but it seems to be the usb port or drive rather than the filesize here.

ANY stick i put in the car throws up the "Check USB" error.

Yet my USB Stick of MP3's works perfectly - which makes me think that it's either the USB socket not RECEIVING data or the Head Unit not playing ball...
And it's just over a week out of it's 3 year warranty....

Anybody know how easy it is to replace the said USB port?

Just as an update...

Spoke to a friend of mine (who also has a QQ) and we swapped over our USB "sockets" on our cars to try

Mine works fine in his, and mine refuses to "see" the USB port...

So, I tried connecting the lead from the Radio head-unit to my external powered drive via the USB Type-B connector - and I got the same backup as I posted here earlier, with a lot of ZEROS in it..

Me-thinks it's the actual MAPS in the head-unit that are faulty, unless I have a faulty USB to Head-unit cable?

Just as another update/thought??

Asking anybody who's taken a Connect 4 head-unit out - is there a slot on the back for a Mini-SD card for the maps or is it internal?

Thinking, IF I can get the head unit out (which seems easy enough), I might be able to copy/delete the maps off of the said "card" onto a USB stick and try again - or just try to update the "card" that's in the Head Unit?

And is it a specialist cable between the head-unit and the USB socket between the seats, or is it just a straight USB to Mini-B female connector??

Thanks for any advice - as Nissan seem to have washed their hands of it now...

Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

I can answer a couple of those.
There is no slot on the back and I have replaced the factory cable in my 2019 xtrail (usb outlet to Qashqai 2020 Android Connect 4 Headunit ) with a Mini-B Male to Mini-B Male cable and it works fine.

Thanks for that....

Replacement cable arriving tomorrow - so I'll see if THAT sorts out my problem..

Right, new lead has arrived and i've tested it in the car...

Still get the "Check USB or Ipod" error as soon as I plug the USB stick in...

Just re-formatting my USB stick (using FAT32 Format) using the standard 16384 allocation size - and I'll try that.

I've also ordered a replacement USB/Aux unit to see if it's that....
