Johnels79, I think that you may we’ll find that driving with additional internal lights is a distraction. We have the Extra Ambience Lighting + Internal LED’s in the Roof Lights which are great when stationary but too bright for driving IMHO.
Surprisingly there does not appear to be a Highway Code Law on Internal Lighting during Driving. Here are a couple of attachments for you - Hope this is of help to you Dave 😉 🙏

Lighting requirements (113 to 116) - THE HIGHWAY CODE : https://www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/lightin ... ments.html

This is a view with the Ambience / LED Map (naturally not normally ON) / Roof Lights ON just as an example :

Hi White_wolf. From your pictures and wording, you bypassed using the controller for the puddle lights, but did you put both separate puddle light cables into the two positap fittings or are there separate cables with the two cables linking to those ? I can see it's been few months since your post, hopefully you remember.

Update on my comment above.

Fitting the puddle lights after fitting the footwell lights is a doddle, as far as the electrics go. Just use the positap tap connectors on each individual footwell light cable on the relevant side. Red to red and black to white.

Hi Alan,

The puddle lights come with a length of wiring and I used these wires and positaps into the + & - to the footwell led itself. I did this on both sides of the car.

The puddle lights wire I ran inside the bottom of the wing, then the wire up and into the car via a small hole in the door jamb.

Then inside footwell cover off and away you go.

Hope that helps, apologies it's been a while - I never got an email notification about any replies.

Thanks Mick. All sorted now and looking sweet. Once I got the footwell lights in, it became a simpler choice to use the left and right side led light cables rather than add yet more wires and positap into the main wiring, so I'm thankful for your posts previously.

Thanks, Alan

It really does. Now that the darker, wetter nights are drawing in, they are proving useful on dimmly lit car parks ...... as well as the looks of jealousy from onlookers with "posher" cars.

Help please from any one whose fitted this kit.

I have a 2018 DCI J11 but I can’t find the cars connector to plug the kit loom connector into, I’ve spent an hour trying to find it, I followed the images and read the comments but no luck, could someone who’s done this install before help with telling me the answers to the following which I hope then I can find the cars connector.

Is the cars connector already plugged into something ? What colour connector am I looking for ? When it’s found will I still have one of the two kit loom connectors not fitted ? If so which male / female connector is not used. Nothing the size should help in identification.

Any help or comments will be greatfully received.

Thank you
Chris

The connector your looking for is behind the footwell trim taped up. I'm sure when i fitted mine last year it did show a pic on the instructions. 1st page of this thread shows the pic with side trim removed so you can see the connector.
