Hi
Wondering if anyone can help.
Our Qashqai turbo failed a few weeks ago and then the car cut out and stopped. My garage has said that he can only run the car for 3 or 4 seconds before it stops, and looks like there is a electronic problem , the engine ecu is not comunicating with the main car ecu, therefor it starts and shuts of straight away. He’s checked the wiring, and no problems.
Any ideas what it could be ?
Tia

Welcome to this forum.

I presume it's been checked for fault codes?

Let's see if anyone can help.

M turbo failed recently, it's a J11 not as yours, but I also had the EML come on. Now, if the problem is severe, could imagine the ECU detecting a serious fault and not allowing the car to start. I presume you have replaced the turbo, changed engine oil and filter and probably the oil feed pipe to the turbo as well, but as gloucester says, you really need the codes read.

By the way, my car ran without the turbo but no power, just enough to get it to the garage.

Thanks for the reply’s
It did run and almost got me home then conked out.
There’s no fault code coming up, it’s not communicating to the ecu. First mechanic said the engine was dead lol second said engine is fine but will only run for a few seconds. He hasn’t replaced turbo yet as we are in Spain and you can’t send back stuff so he’s reluctant to buy the turbo before he gets it running in case there is something more serious. He’s been in touch with Nissan so hopefully sort it out soon. Just thought someone might have had same problem after a turbo going 🤷‍♀️
