Hi everyone. New to the site.
I have an issue with my 2.0 DCI, which I bought recently (has big mileage).

Long story short, car was having DPF issues when I bought it so I looked for the cause. Had only done a few short drives, but noticed the turbo was a little oily at the rear; so I swapped it for another.

All good, but now I discover that the turbo seems to be overheating, really hot. Any residue oil starts smoking off at this temperature.

No fan on (does it stay on after the ignition off?) Fan works, and relay/fuse is good, No airlock (air breather releases only coolant), changed the Wastegate solenoid (though replacement does not hold vacuum like I saw in some YT videos  )

Suspect now the coolant/water pump, or the turbo coolant pump.

My question for those with experience, does the coolant circulate into the expansion tank when running, even before the thermostat opens at 89°C?

I could open up the hose to test circulation, but I assume there should be a constant renewal in the expansion tank with a working pump.

Let me know. Really appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
