Crikey Big Mike, that’s complex - just wish I had a suggestion that might help.
Although, do you have a heated windscreen ?
I've heard they can interfere

well i am sorted now, it just means i cant have my dashcam (so sods law i will definitely have an accident now!!!)

heated front windscreen? Not sure, i dont think so but honestly it is possible. The car is so old now i can probably cope without the camera.....

The windscreen heater matrix can block a dash mount GPS but the headunit uses an external antenna in the rear roof. And a GPS pre amplifier there.

I don't believe the dealer can test the headunit in any technical way. They don't have competency or required test equipment.

Clearly from the post the GPS data is being corrupted periodically. Normally 3 Sats are required for mapping with a 4th to gain positional elevation..if needed.

Its the dealer who should change the headunit and/or antenna system...at full cost.
