Hiya

So I’ve got bad “crazing” on my roof rails.

Response from Nissan:

We can advise that there are currently no active campaigns on your vehicle related to the roof rails end caps, which mean this is not a known issue to Nissan regarding your Nissan Qashqai.

If you are experiencing any issues, we recommend contacting one of our authorised Nissan Dealerships to have your vehicle seen and diagnosed.

So can I ask other people to provide pics so I can try and get this raised as an issue ?

I have no issue with the actual rail- just the caps!!!

Use SEARCH Box; several years back I had several sets replaced under warranty.
It was the first time my dealer had come across.
Initial fix was that they didn't just replace caps, but whole rail!
On 3rd occasion I went back, they just changed the caps; so is a known issue.
Find the relevant post here, and refer them to that :)

Welcome to this forum.

People on here, as you can see, have had these replaced in the past.

However it probably depends on how old you car is - it's not the sort of safety issue that would mean they'd have to sort it. Five+ years is probably too old even if you have an extended warranty?

I'm not sure what an "active campaign" actually means in reality.

It’s a 2016 and I first made them aware of it in 2019 but when I purchased it, they told me the same but it’s getting worse ! :(
I’ve never had a car that has deteriorated like that in all my time of owning cars, and I’ve had a few Nissans, and would likely buy another, so I am hoping they will fix it as goodwill.

Thanks guys. Il have a look.
