Hi,
I want to hardwire my dashcam into the fusebox but don't know which fuse slot to use. I want it to switch off when I switch off the ignition. At the moment I use cigarette lighter socket but it is constantly on so I have to remember to unplug the dashcam every time I leave the car. Otherwise it will drain my battery.
Does anyone know which fuse socket should I use?

I did a search but couldn't find the answer, hence asking the question here.

Check if the socket you're using shuts off about 30-40 seconds AFTER ignition is turned off. Certainly on a J11 the central console one into which I plugged my dashcam turned off. I'm not sure if the situation was changed in the J11B.

I followed the advice found on this forum and used the fuse location per the picture - never had a problem.
With the glovebox removed it the bottom row of fuses , and the last fuse on the left.

OP, can I ask which socket are you using that is a constant live?
Both the front one next to the E-brake, the one in the armrest cubby and all the USB's shut off after around 5 minutes on my J11B.

Do you really want the dash cam to be operating at all times ?

One way I got round a hardwire, but still having "sentry mode" was by using the USB socket in the armrest cubby for daily driving/recording then quick swap over to a battery bank to record whilst I'm away from the car, car parks, street parking etc. Battery bank lives in the armrest cubby and on constant charge via the auxiliary socket during driving, only have a short capacity bank, but so far it's good for four hours recording, not bad for a front and rear camera.
I may invest in a larger bank if longer battery life needed.
