Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai - J11 (2013–2017)

Post by Realbob1985 »

Good afternoon everyone
Hope everyone is well. We are considering buying a 17 plate 1.5 diesel qashqai tekna. My mrs loves them.

Any way just wanted to say hi and if anyone has any information regarding what to look out for and anything I should be worried about.

Thanks for looking

Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

I had one for about 2.5 years from new and did roughly 30,000 trouble free miles.
New tyres on the front at about 26,000 miles.
Apart from routine servicing, that’s the only expense I suffered.
If you can resist the temptation on the motorway and stick to 60-ish you will get brilliant mpg.

I didn’t buy a new diesel as I was wary of the Ad-Blue system and about to retire and do less mileage.

Welcome to this forum.

You don't state the mileage but a new cambelt is required after 5 years or 72,000 miles if that comes first.

Hi it’s 38,000 miles, if we end up buying it I will hopefully get them to do the cambelt before we pick it up. I know the mileage isn’t there but being nearly 5 years old they might do it

5 years is the guidance. You don't have to have both!

Reports are that a cambelt isn't a great expense but still something for them to do.

£309 here for example: https://www.westwaynissan.co.uk/servicing/cambelt (this site also suggests 90,000 - there is a range of mileage figures from 60k to 90k quoted at various sites - the service handbook should show the relevant figure for the car.
