The Nissan Juke will gain a new hybrid powertrain this summer, promising more responsive performance and lower emissions.
...
It pairs a 92bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 48bhp electric motor for a total of 140bhp. Nissan claims an economy figure of 54mpg, while CO2 emissions are capped at 118g/km.

92bhp from a 1.6 petrol engine is a very poor output for such an engine size.

The hybrid powertrain is a result of Nissan's alliance with Renault. The Japanese firm supplies the engine and motor, while Renault provides the gearbox, high-voltage 15kW starter-generator and 1.2kWh water-cooled battery. It's capable of fully electric start-up by default.

Only a 1.2kWh battery but they've still had to water cool it?

The Juke Hybrid also gains a driving-mode selection button that can be used to switch it into 100% EV mode...

... but there's no indication in the article of the range in that mode.

The Juke Hybrid forms part of Nissan’s plans to electrify its entire model range by 2023. The petrol model currently starts from £19,200, but Nissan is yet to reveal pricing for the Hybrid.
...
We expect it to command a similar price to the closely related Renault Captur E-Tech Hybrid, from around £25,000.

... so not cheap then - competing with the low end of the Qashqai range - well maybe not - I typed that before looking up current Qashqai prices! They're more than I thought. Ignoring the low-spec Visia at £24,555 you now have to pay at least £27,155 to get a Qashqai (Acenta Premium) - and let's not forget that the top spec Tekna+ now costs £40,000 with two-tone paint.

Another article here - it still doesn't state the electric only range - and remember this is a "self-charging hybrid" in Toyota-speak!

Similar to the tech in the Renault Clio, the electric motor is fed by a 1.2kWh liquid-cooled battery, while the two power sources drive a clever “multi-modal” clutchless automatic gearbox. This is possible thanks to the Renault-sourced 20bhp belt starter/generator; the Juke Hybrid always starts off in electric drive mode and Nissan says there are four ‘ICE’ gears and two ‘EV gears’ with synchronisation of the ratios taken care of by the pair of electric motors.

...

A top speed of 34mph on electric power is possible, although Nissan has not yet outlined any further performance stats.

There’s a dedicated EV mode, selectable by a button so drivers can keep the powertrain in its zero emissions configuration when in residential areas, for example. Eco, Normal and Sport modes are also on offer, with each changing the steering weight, throttle response and climate control settings.

The Juke Hybrid also features adjustable regenerative braking, with Sport mode ramping up the retardation offered by the motor to maximise harvesting of electric power, later deploying this for maximum acceleration. An e-Pedal mode offers the strongest brake regeneration, slowing the Juke to a 3mph creep, so full one-pedal driving is not possible, as with other hybrid and plug-in hybrid machines.

The New powertrain in the Nissan Juke range is a full-hybrid setup that involves an electric motor with 49 horsepower (36 kW) and 205 Nm of torque developed by the Japanese marque, which works with an internal combustion unit, with 1.6-liters of displacement, and that produces 94 horsepower (69 kW) and 148 Nm of torque.

Renault has provided a 15kW high-voltage starter/generator unit mated to the gasoline engine, an inverter, and a 1.2-kWh water-cooled battery. All those work with the French marque's innovative gearbox, which has four gears meant for use with the internal combustion unit and two for the electric motors.

The transmission is without a clutch, and has ditched synchronizers in favor of dog clutches. The setup is already available in the Renault Clio E-Tech.

The driver does not have to shift any gears, despite the complicated powertrain described above. Instead, the two electric motors onboard are used to synchronize the gears, while a computer manages the shift points, battery regeneration, as well as the advanced series-parallel hybrid architecture.

Instead of making a series hybrid or a parallel hybrid or a series-parallel hybrid, the powertrain that is referred to as the E-Tech on the Renault Clio, or the Hybrid on the Nissan Juke goes through all those types on its own, seamlessly. In other words, the system does all the work.

Every start from naught is done in 100% electric mode, no matter how hard the accelerator pedal is pressed. Moreover, the vehicle will stay in EV mode up to 34 mph (55 kph). From there, the hybrid modes get shifted between each other depending on driving speed, battery charge, and acceleration requirements.

Sounds like an "interesting" driving experience
