Hi, I'm doing some research as a prospective buyer on the pre-facelift J11 QQ 1.5 dCi variant, and wanted to know if any current/recent owners of this model can give feedback on their experience. Specifically:

Reliability:
Some of the threads on this topic have a lot of responses from people whose cars were fairly new at the time. Is there anyone on here still running a 16/66 plate and can comment on reliability? From what I've read on here, most issues seem to lie with the earliest models (2014). I'm guessing the well documented battery issue shouldn't be much of a problem these days given most will have been replaced by now.

Fuel economy:
I currently drive a 64 plate Yaris with the 1.4 diesel and typically get around 59mpg with mostly motorway driving (often in the right lane if you catch my drift), peaking at 62mpg occasionally, and dropping to 53mpg when I've not done much motorway driving. Can I expect to get at least as good economy with the 1.5 dCi QQ?

Cambelt:
With the recommended interval being 5 years/75k miles if I'm not mistaken, how likely is it that any given 16/66 plate for sale will have had its cambelt changed even if below the recommended mileage interval? Guessing this one really depends.

Any feedback or general comments from current/recent owners of this particular variant would be great! Cheers.

Edit: Has anyone (of any QQ) had to use the tire repair kit? What are thoughts on this vs getting a spare tire kit? The idea of not having a spare wheel makes me uneasy, but then I'm not sure if that's just a fear of the unknown...

I've got a 66 reg never had any problem with it do around 17.000 miles a yr in it. Get around 60mpg. Winter is always lower mpg. Than the summer. Never had any batt probs with mine cambelt change been done in a few months on mine. I doubt the car your looking at will have the belt changed but just ask them. I do oil and filters change every 6months too.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds good all round. What's your typical winter mpg? What mileage is yours at?

Welcome to this forum

You seem to have done your research. I can't add anything since mine was a petrol one.

I had a 2017 1.5 dci n-connecta
I specified the heat pack when I ordered the car so it has heated seats and front screen.
About 30,000 trouble free miles from new.
Top mpg figure was over 60mpg in normal motorway use.
Fabulous car but I knew I would soon be doing fewer miles and wanted an automatic or I’d have put more miles on the car.
