Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi Tenka 5 door hatchback
twice in the past month my rear o/s door has been locked from the outside, no problem with other doors and the child lock is not on, I can reach in from the from and pull the inside handle and the door will open,
due to wearing hearing aids and glasses I use a face visor rather than a mask, I keep the visor on the rear o/s seat headrest and when I go to get the visor out I have been locked out of the rear o/s, anybody any suggestions on this, all help and advice appreciated

This has been reported several times on the forum. I can only suggest you do a search since I can't remember what the issue was.
Try a targeted Google search https://www.google.com/search?q=qashqai ... rums.co.uk since that's an easier method than using the integrated search routine in my experience.

Looks like the old intermittency problem....
All doors are commanded to lock/unlock by the Body Control Module (BCM) after triggering from the keys/door buttons. So thats a mixture of electronic/electrics and mechanical plus wiring. Likely needs inspecting with the door card off?
I guess you repeat key lock/unlock to see if it'll release lock?

For me it was a mechanical issue related to the child lock/door lock. A liberal spraying of lubricating oil did the trick.

Its difficult to determine the fault. It is an actuator driven from the BCM via wiring of course. Would need to check the actuator and which requires the door card off.

From my experience, having similar issues with both front and rear doors (nearside) the culprit in both cases was a faulty door lock actuator, luckily my Warranty covered this.
However, they did think the front may have been a faulty cable? But after stripping and testing it a new actuator was fitted.
Can now enter and exit the car without issue.

put my car in for service and mot and mentioned the door, under warranty, garage stated the could not find the fault, still have information down on the service sheet so if it happens again I will contact Nissan directly and see what they say
