Sorry if this was asked but searching a116+ pages of Tyre wheels chassis takes a lot of time. I live in the Dominican Republic and purchased a 2020 QQ with 19 inch rims with Dunlop Sportmaxx 225/45/R19 tires. The problem here is they have a lot of pot holes. Many of these are not visible until you hit them. This has caused two tires to fail and bent one rim to the point the tire can not be balanced. The dealer says the small sidewalls on these tires cause them to collapse as there is not sufficient air and caused the sidewall to fail and air escaped, thus the bent rim. They recommend I change to 18 rims and compensate with tires with a larger sidewall. I checked with a reputable tire shop they checked the rim and said it can be repaired and I should just change the tires to 225/50/R19 to add more sidewall and air and I should not have a problem with pot holes. For now the unbalanced tire is in the rear but will be a problem when it is time to rotate the tires. Two questions is it safe to repair the rim? and if this is possible would 225/50/R19 tires be OK to use? The tire shop showed one along side the original tire and it is bigger but stated it would be fine.

If it's that bad I'd switch to 17" wheels.

Larger diameter tyres on your current wheels will throw out your speedo accuracy and may affect cruise control, yes they will fit, but I doubt you will achieve much improvement on what you have now. As Gloucester says, get some smaller wheels, you may find the tyres may also be a little less expensive.

I would personally go for 17 inch wheels with a taller - say 65 profile , and swap to steel wheels.
Then it wont matter if they damage - plus they are stronger
