Hi everyone,
Nissan Qashqai 2016 - battery Start/ Stop System Fault

recently bought a Nissan Qashqai 2016 Accenta with about 19k mileage on meter, then drove for about a month and then suddenly yesterday car didnt' start, and " start/stop system fault" , and malfunction indicator light (orange) is showing continuously on display (picture attached) took help from the neighbour used jump lead and the car started then, drove for an hour came back home then this morning tried to start but it didnt then again had to use jump lead to start, then went straight to halfords got the battery replaced drove for about 2 hours but the warning light is still there car drives ok, can anyone suggest what can be the cause? its quite annoying and making me worried when i look at my car. please help thanks Image

you`ll need to get a code reader on it to say what the fault is. did halfords put the correct batt on it should be an EFB 096 batt ?

Welcome to this forum.

A battery check or battery replacement is the usual "number-one" check for such faults.

Not sure whether the light should clear itself or not. What is the battery that's been fitted?

... and for next time! Nissan dealers can be cheaper than Halfords for battery replacement.

AGM OK too? Albeit Halfords only lists "Halfords EFB096 Start Stop Car Battery 5 Year Guarantee " for my (old) car.

There is a procedure for changing this cars Battery. It requires that Battery usage data is reset for the new battery and any lingering(?) DTCs are cleared.

Some may deem this unnecessary but without eliminating/checking the items mentioned above there may exist a continuing warning. Its a Nissan or RAC job to clear and reset as mentioned.

thats halfords own battery with 5 years warranty, they did check and advice the battery so i assume they didnt make any mistake and put the right battery.
