Hi Dan
Not sure if you have read this as part of your searches and if it will help with your install and cable length, but I ran my cable for my first install of two separate cameras and second Install that was a joined Nextbase along the floor and then up behind the back of the C pillar trim then through inner roof skin and out via rubber boot. see this thread from about page 3 onwards.

Thank you. I have the cable in to the passenger side through the tailgate rubber and then under the top of the boot trim to the camera.
Inside the car I have run it down the c pillar following the oem cable loom to go under the rear passenger side door trim as I didn’t see a path through the roof lining other than next to the curtain airbag. The cable pops up in the front behind the fuse panel trim and runs up the a pillar trim (well about a third of the way currently).
Did you go the same route?

Basically yes, so once inside car behind c pillar trim on driver side then came out on boot floor by rear passenger seat ran it along floor from here till got to front then went up at the start of A pillar ran along roof to rear view mirror to then join front Nextbase camera. As this cable is video feed and off shoot power for rear, I then had main power that feeds front and rear coming up from fuse box on passenger side to meet at the mirror and main front camera.

Is it a mini HDMI cable? Just encountered that on a Raspberry pi.....not impressed.
Proprietary cable...thats not funny if it is?

The connection to the rear camera is a USB mini-B. I have decided to chop, extend (using a old USB cable I had in the garage) and then reattach the original end. I just hope my soldering skills are up to it as I am a bit out of practice.

Hi, yes I got mine working ok looped under the trim etc on the passenger side. Sorry I was meant to submit and update but forgot!! I seem to recall that it is a 6core cable which is why extensions etc would not work. I soldered a 1m length of hdmi cable between the cut ends of the original cable and covered the individual soldered joints with heat shrink and then an overall shrink to protect it. It has worked ok for me the last 18mths. FYI, Road Angel would not sell me a longer cable and claimed it would not work due to increased resistance. I will post a pic of inside the rear cam showing the cores sorry one is very bad)
