Horrible Metallic Grinding Noise

Just developed last night, and of course it is a Sunday and I am on holiday on a small island... LOL

Only happens when moving forwards and tight turns. Happens turning left and right. Does not happen in reverse. Happens when braking and not braking.

I had no warning, no rattles, no loose steering, no clunks, nothing.

The noise is loud and awful like something really bad is happening.

I checked the CV boots and they look fine. The lower ball joint boots are a bit darker on both sides but they are not split or wet that I can see.

No gouges in the brake discs.

Any ideas?

I couldn't tell for sure if the rock guard behind the brake discs was catching but there is quite a bit of rusting going on there, so I bent both sides back with my fingers. Don't know yet if that has helped.

This all started with making lots of five point turns full lock to full lock.
