My 2023 Qashqai J12 epower has recently started to demonstrate the same symptoms with a high pitched squeak when turning left, it has also scored my discs, braking performance is unaffected seems to do it more when using the e pedal otherwise the car drives perfectly.
I'd like to know after dealer inspection and diagnostics what is happening if your told these revised shims are still on back order, is the car still being used or what's being done until these revised shims are available.
Does anyone know if these revised shims are now available.

I had the squeal from both sides in front during driving at slow speed, during turning and during braking. My brake discs were scored as well, far more than the picture posted above. When I took my e-Power for 1st service I also mentioned this on the booking. My dealership was dismissive and defensive at first, when I mentioned that this is a known issue of brake shims bending under heat and causing this squeal and Nissan has changed the part number then they agreed to have a look. They came back and told me that they will re-adjust the brake shims and the squeal should go away but I told them I don't want to be back again for this, the brake shims should be changed, after a discussion above the chain the tech told me that they will replace the brake shims. When I asked if the replacement shims are of the new part number as I don't want any recurrance but the tech told me they don't have any info on this. When I asked them what they will do about the scored discs, they told me that they can't do anything. I don't blame the dealership as every warranty repair has to be approved by Nissan or else if they won't be paid then they won't do it, so I blame Nissan, clearly Nissan did not design the brake discs to be heavily scored before even the first service of the car, and I know for sure in next service Nissan will flag the discs unfit and charge me for £500 per dics for replacement, poor customer support, you mess up as a company, you own it, you fix it.

Who’s your dealer?
When I was getting the squeal, I walked into my nearest BSM Nissan dealer (hadn’t bought the car there), said I’m getting a squeal from the front brakes & straight away the lady on the service desk, I think I know what that is, it’s a known issue, but I’ll get the technician to take a look.” 10 minutes later they confirmed it’s the shims & they were in back order.
They said they had done over 100 of them, but Nissan had now changed the part number (presumably a new version).
About 3 weeks later they called to let me know the parts were in.

Mine has been back three times now. They have replaced the shims and then ‘adjusted’ them a couple of times but the squeal is still apparent under certain conditions. The brakes also grind even after a long journey.

The dealership report of my first service said that the front passenger tyre was 72% worn, the same wheel which had more scoring on the disc, and the driver side front tyre was 61% worn, it also had disc scoring. The squeal was from both the front wheels/brakes. 72% of tyre wear in 9300 miles (11 months) seems abnormal, what's your experience e-Power owners? (rear tyres were 38 & 39% worn)Jake Sully wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 9:11 am I had the squeal from both sides in front during driving at slow speed, during turning and during braking. I understand that using regenerative braking in B Mode and/or e-Pedal saves your brakes but should affect tyre wear but this much tyre wear seems a bit much. Still the uneven wear, specially on the tyre that had higher scoring and squeal means it might be due to shims/brakes. So not only does these known defective brake shims cause noise but it might cost you higher fuel consumption, disc scoring and early tyre wear, so beware and get it fixed early.
