Front Passenger door will not open from inside the car

Hi all,
I have 2018 Qashqai and the front passenger door will no longer open from the inside. The external handle works fine. Has anyone had a similar problem?
I’ve searched the forum and found other people have had a similar issue but I can’t really see how they resolved the problem. I have seen posts saying “remove the three screws that attach the lock to the door and then use a screwdriver to push the child lock to the 'off' position”, However If I remove the 3 screws wont the locking mechanism just fall into the door? Or do I need to remove the door card to get to the mechanism?

Any advice is most appreciated

The lock will not fall as its still attached by the cable, undo the 3 screws to get access, free the child lock bit and spray with lube

Child lock is only on the rear doors!!!

Same child lock mechanism is fitted to the front but hidden.

I know this is an old post but for anyone out there that experiences this problem in the future - there is a child lock on the front passenger door - it’s just inside the lock you can see it in the picture above . I’ve just has the same problem and turned the child lock off and now my door works, I hope this he
