Hi all,

I have an issue with car fan in Qashqai n connector 18 plate. When i get in car and if the fan has been left on full then the fan will blow with no problem. However, if I change the fan speed the fan sometimes (not always) responds before completely fading out. The fan cannot be used at all. If I stop the car then restart the engine and put on full it will work again. So either I can have all or nothing. If I turn the fan OFF and then back ON again (only on FULL) it will work so at least I can keep windscreen clear.

Any ideas or estimated costs for repairs as I am considering changing the vehicle or if anyone knows how to fix it?

Thanks

Dave

Sounds very much like a failing heater blower resistor to me.
Had ours replaced under warranty so unfortunately I don't have a price for a new one from Nissan, sometimes a used one pops up on EBay.

I've just checked my online Haynes manual, looks relatively easy to remove and reinstall.

Glove box out (easily done)
Locate the resistor which is located below and to the left of the blower motor.
Remove the lower retaining screw
Withdraw the resistor from the heater housing
