I have been off sick for a week, and come back to start my car this morning and nothing’s working.
Firstly, the alarm kept sounding (because I was trying to open the locked door I think) and eventually got around that problem by using the physical key.
I have two key fobs so the chance of both batteries being dead are quite slim (and the little red light does show on them both), but for some reason there’s absolutely no life in the car - except the alarm!
My APP says no issues, but I don’t know if this would pick up a dead car battery? Which is the only thing I can imagine is wrong.
Any ideas?!

Maybe the 12v battery is flat. A trick worth trying.. to start using your key actually just touching (not depressing)the start button while depressing the brake. This will start the engine and this will allow the car to start charging the 12 volt… I think!

Definitely the 12v battery got drained. If its just been a week then the battery should be good once recharged. 12v Battery is in the trunk/boot, below the trunk lid. You will see the red cover for the battery terminals. I'm not sure if there is a jump terminal in the engine compartment, but when the same happened to me, I went to the trunk and checked voltage on the battery terminals itself and the voltage was around 10.5v and the car will not unlock by key fob, and it won't turn ON either, once 12v recharged all was good. To avoid recurrance, buy a Jump Starter and a trickle charger / maintainer, I have these:

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Will this happen every time you leave your car in the airport car park while you go off on holiday for a week or two?

Jump terminals in the engine bay:

Never use the booster to jump start another car though.
If you habit of sitting in the car with the radio etc on but not the engine running this will cause the 12v battery to drain, see other threads in the epower section.

I’ve got the same issue with my brand new QQ E-Power. Only had it four weeks, it’s done 344 miles and been left on the drive for five days. Car is completely unresponsive to both keys and nothing happens when car opened with manual keys. dash is completely dark and interior lights don’t work.
What was the outcome of your problem?
Thanks

The 12 volt battery on these cars is quite small and if the car was hanging around at the dealers its probable that they didn't hand it over to you in a fully charged state. If you did anything that drained it further, for example leaving the lights on or using the auxiliary mode by not pressing the brake pedal together with the start button, there may have been limited reserve.Linda O wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 6:30 pm I’ve got the same issue with my brand new QQ E-Power. It is not quite true that having the car in ready mode for 30 minutes is sufficient to fully charge it. I have a voltage meter connected and after an initial high charge rate the system cuts it down and it takes at least an hour of being in ready mode to get near full charge.
In your case you may feel that the dealer should help you out on such a new car. For future reference whenever you need to work through settings of the information display or listen to the radio while parked up you should do this in READY mode albeit remaining in Park. The 12 volt system will then be maintained from the traction battery and if this gets low the engine will start to replenish it.

I've had the same problem with a three week old car. each time I went to use the car after just a day, or two, it was unresponsive. I charged the battery fully and took voltage readings every couple of hour. Initial reading was 12.5v, but after 24 hours it was 8.4v. Car went in to dealers for diagnostics, several errors were flagged, indicating battery problems. They changed the battery for a larger one, saying that it was apparently known problem. The battery is no longer a problem.
