It's even more handy to press the CAMERA hard button. I think all of these alternatives do the "Decline" however.
So what does "Decline" mean? What does not work then?

Curiosity got the better of the cat...so I hit decline on a short journey home, nothing in the car to indicate anything but the Connected App was a different story (and the journey in question wasn't logged with number of trips and total mileage not incrementing as it would normally )...

Didn't get a chance to check till yesterday afternoon over the course of a number of fairly short journeys, used either the camera button or a screen "soft" button which effectively dismissed the OK/decline at the start of several trips. Despite not "OK'ing", the total number of trips and mileage shown under the daily tab in the app correspond exactly. Contrary to what I'd thought previously it looks like you get "opted in " (as with the OK button) if you dismiss the permissions screen with any of the options mentioned above. Only if you actually properly "decline" is the journey not recorded, my total trips for the other day is still 1 short for the trip where I'd declined and the privacy option was activated. No doubt Nissan have a logic chart somewhere that defines how/what/why, still was interesting to have a play around to see how recording to the app worked.

Thanks Stewart,
That matches what I found when just pressing one of the buttons down the side of the screen
Until last night didn’t actually know the app recorded all that journey data from when I got the car.
It would help if it also recorded mpgs or showed the climate saving info & when updates, recalls, etc had been carried up.
So if we decline every time Nissan connect wouldn’t have any journey data on us

Right after the end of the journey, there was an alert in the notifications tab corresponding to the time I hit decline at the start of the journey. App does appear to "sync" pretty much in real time, certainly shortly after powering down the car and then main screen by opening the door. I'm in an area with good cellular coverage so that may be an influence depending on personal circumstances.

I see I am not the only one bothered by this highly invasive and annoying popup - it's ridiculous that it bugs you every time
Even if I hit the camera, it will ask me again later
I don't even use the connected app :/

Whilst I understand the message is annoying on every start up, it takes less than a second to touch the screen to get it to go away. When I get in my car I touch the screen, attach the seat belt and switch off the stop start, taking less than a second.
Exactly the same procedure that I use, not a problemGraham1958 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 5:38 pm Whilst I understand the message is annoying on every start up, it takes less than a second to touch the screen to get it to go away.
