Can you recall what the setting you disabled was actually called.StewartP wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 12:30 pmMany thanks for the comment about the welcome screen, I've now been able to disable it as well and get rid of the irritating second pop up. Echoing comments about the permissions screen, evidently Nissan's lawyers have advised erring on the side of caution esp as the EU is getting a bit more particular about companies use personal data. Obviously some other companies-in not firing up a "opt-in" screen everytime- are taking a more relaxed view....

Yes, correct ( edit user is on the 2nd menu page for avoidance of confusion ) I also had a bit of a read through the OK/decline screen text, it's basically related to the connected services setup and how your personal data-when using the vehicle- such as location, distances and speed etc is collected and used. By my reading, if you never use the Nissan app- which logs and displays a lot of this info- then just letting the message "timeout" shouldn't cause much problem. Happy to be corrected but I'd be surprised if it impacts the likes of the SOS function, given that it is probably intended for use by anyone in an emergency as opposed to a registered, opted in, user. ( There's probably something in the manual or on the website detailing all the ins and outs but I can't be bothered to track down right now! )
PS I wasn't going to go looking but the following, detailing the difference between the mandatory and optional SOS telematics, may be of interest https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/t ... dex_en.htm

The message doesn’t seem to time out, drove a couple of miles yesterday without pressing OK or cancel & the message stayed o screen the whole time.StewartP wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 12:23 pmYes, correct ( edit user is on the 2nd menu page for avoidance of confusion ) I also had a bit of a read through the OK/decline screen text, it's basically related to the connected services setup and how your personal data-when using the vehicle- such as location, distances and speed etc is collected and used. So unless it takes longer for it to timeout, not pressing OK or Cancel on screen is not an option.

Ahh, interesting, happy to have been corrected on that point. I was fairly sure, albeit from hazy recollection, that I had seen the message disappear after a period. Evidently a bit of "mis-remembering " on my part!MontyB52 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 12:30 pmThe message doesn’t seem to time out, drove a couple of miles yesterday without pressing OK or cancel & the message stayed o screen the whole time.StewartP wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 12:23 pmYes, correct ( edit user is on the 2nd menu page for avoidance of confusion ) I also had a bit of a read through the OK/decline screen text, it's basically related to the connected services setup and how your personal data-when using the vehicle- such as location, distances and speed etc is collected and used.
