Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Hi
I’m new to this forum. Just taken delivery of my new tekna+ and loving it. Just a couple of questions. Are you able to get rid of that annoying ok or decline on data protection on the screen when you start up each time? Also anywhere in the 700+ page manual does it tell you about symbols on the infotainment?
I’ve had this one appear, it’s probably something obvious but I can’t find out what it is. 🤔
Regards Steve

Glad you've got your J12

No you can't get rid of the initial message each time.

The symbol means the car is connected to the internet/nissan connect via the internal sim.

There is a Nissan Drivers Guide app you can download to your phone that will help with finding your way around the car.

Hello @Steve60 and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, you cannot disable the “nag” message on the infotainment screen when you start the car.

The symbol/icon in your photo shows that your Qashqai has a direct data connection with Nissan using the in-built SIM card/eSim. This allows various functions to be used via the separate Nissan Connect app (iOS/Android) and also the ability to download over-the-air software updates and map updates.

:D Ahh right thank you so much. It’s been driving me mad trying to find this. Really annoying you can’t get rid of that message at start up.
I’m just downloading app now. This is my second qashqui and must admit a far better upgrade :D

It would appear Nissan are currently using Orange Business for the in-built data service via 4G.

Some of the infotainment features are only free for a few years.

The prices, for the optional in-car WiFi, are quite eye-watering considering the paltry data allowance. It might be cheaper to use an existing mobile phone data plan and tether? :?
