Hi, i took delivery of a 158 business j12 with cvt in december, it has 8700km right now
My energyy recovery system is a bit noisy and i can hear it during some slow decelerations and slow speed accelerations. It makes the same noise a s a little pump or hand driller. Is it the same for yours or is it the beginning of a failure?
regards

Hi,
The dealer told me it is normal to hear some noise. The battery for this hybrid system is located under the passenger seat and I'm guessing this is where the noise comes.
Anyway, maybe it's safe to have a professional look at it as the car is still under warranty.

I guess you could go to a different dealer and get a test drive - listen for the noise ?
If there is a discrepancy, ask them to listen to and/or look at your car.

I'm not sure why a hybrid battery would make a noise?
The one in my Ignis is under the front passenger seat - and totally silent.

My J12 MH doesn't make the noise you describe. Definitely worth speaking to dealer

The recovery/boost is done via the starter motor which is connected directly to the fly-wheel. It's located just forward of the transmission (next to the bell housing), so some noise in the cabin is expected.
Thx, i was looking for that info!!QashqaiKev wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 10:53 pm The recovery/boost is done via the starter motor which is connected directly to the fly-wheel. It's located just forward of the transmission (next to the bell housing), so some noise in the cabin is expected.

It's also worth mentioning that CVTs themselves are quite noisy and sound like an angry wasp under acceleration.

So i got my car back from the dealer yesterday, we booked a 3 days appointment in order to dismount the hybrid battery . The noise is expected (from nissan europe) to come from it. As it is a Li Ion battery i guess it has a cooling ssytem like a fan or liquid cooling that could make vibrations during hard charge/discharge. I will tell you in april.gloucester wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 12:20 pmWelcome to this forum.forrestiny wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 11:17 am Hi,
