"Tesla's Roadster shipment to be delayed to 2023" ouch !
Yes DaveBerlin, and it seems the people who pre-ordered had to pay a deposit of 45.000 euro in advance ... that's even more than I pay for my J12 in total.
So now we know why Elon Musk is so rich :D
For us mortals that 45.000 euro deposit would be a lot, but to the Eternals who buy these cars ... peanuts ?
I'm afraid that by the time I get my J12 Tekna+ it might have become an ... Oldtimer

Just a couple more comments people have left over the past 24 hours on a Nissan Qashqai Facebook advert:

  • I ordered mine last week it's due in December
  • Ordered on Monday with a December delivery
  • I ordered my Qashqai paid the deposit and now I have to wait until the 4 October when I was told at the showroom I will have to wait 2 weeks. This is so sad as now I wish I had gone to anyone other than my local Nissan. I have been waiting for over 2 months already. I am truly fed up and will not recommended anyone - I have been waiting since July.

Nissan seem to be advertising their other cars more frequently (Micra, Juke and Leaf) - the Qashqai less so.

" I have been waiting since July."
I have been waiting for much longer, but my dealership didn't want to put a delivery date on paper and I accepted this so ... I can't complain.
I, personally, consider it normal though that I have to wait for (many) month because I requested a specific trim / color etc ... instead of accepting a previous model J11b from stock (J12 was not available at that time, but oh so many cheaper J11b).
I am curious though why those people (that you quoted) seem to be getting their cars much quicker/sooner than I (let's wait and see about that, I am not so sure they will get their J12 that ... soon :!: ).

Hi QaiFan I am shocked that I am ment to be getting mine by the end of the month, but until the day its in my hands, thats when I will believe it. When I first ordered the N- Connecta, I wanted the black roof and pearl white, but was getting dates for delivery Jan, Feb next year so just went for pearl White. Have a smile to yourself when we get our first frost and think of me scraping my windsreen and freezing my hands off on the steering wheel.

Hello McVicar,
I don't even have a clue when I might be getting my Tekna +!
Who knows, might also be wintertime by then!?
The dealership doesn't want to give me any date.
But I still have a car that's OK, so I will wait... I'll have to.

Unsurprisingly, the Qashqai never made it into the Top 10 of best sellers/new car registrations in the UK for August :|

Mild Hybrid sales are up 45.9% but petrol and diesel sales are down 40.4% and 64.5% respectively (year-on-year):

I just read : "Nissan and Honda have paused production in the UK due to supply problems..." (article dated august 23).
Computer chip shortages (probably other parts as well?) are being mentioned.
That explains a lot about QQ delivery issues !

My Qashqai is having its second MOT so I have just asked about the production of my Tekna - it’s still scheduled for delivery at the end of this month. πŸ€”πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

They have a Gun Metallic N-Connecta Qashqai in the showroom which has had the Williams Ceramic Coating applied:

Fuji Sunset Red and Pearl Black Roof. I think this would have been my second colour choice ;)
