Hi, new to the forum so apologies if I post this in the wrong section
Today I replaced the fuel filter on my j11 diesel, after replacing the Amber water in fuel light was present on the dash
I tried draining it, but light still stayed illuminated
Swapped back to the original filter and light went off
Swapped back to new and light on again
I'm assuming there is a fault with the new filter, has anyone experienced a similar problem?
Thanks in advance

I'd your original filter is black top then you need to fit a black top if your original filter is a white top then you need to fit a white top filter. If they are both white and you've still got the light on then I believe your given the wrong fuel filter. If it's a UFI filter then the 6 digit code should match your original. Post pic of both filters please.
this is the filter you should have had on car all ready and the new one should be the same

Seems I've been given the wrong filter, the original Nissan one has a black top, the new ufi one has a white top
Does anyone know the usi part number for the correct filter?

They both have a water sensor in them, the black one is the early filter and the white one is the latest filter. There is an update to bring the engine ecm up a level which will then accept the white top filter on some models.
Is yours the k9k(1.5) or the r9m(1.6) and what year isit.
Either way you need a black one for a straight swap
