J11 2013 1.6 limp mode no warning lights

My car has gone into limp mode with the error code P0380-96 preheating unit diag conn 1.DEF

Ive narrowed down that it's something to do with the glow plugs? Any ideas on what I might be looking at, are new plugs likely to fix it?

any good garage will be able to test your glow-plugs and let you know if they are good or not
