Gear Oil

Hi all,
Does any one know if there's anything special about nissan gear oil, I want to change mine soon, I don't believe in filled for life, also nissan oil is obscenely priced.
I believe my book says GL4. 75-80, also it says the capacity is 1.35 litres, not a lot really, I'm sure my old Almera was close to 3 litres , if anyone knows that would be great.

Thanks Andy, I'm thinking I might be able to remove front wheel and vacuum the fluid out through the filler hole rather than fanny about removing all the tray underneath, that's how I remove most of the engine oil before an oil change, then there's about half a liter that comes out drain plug.
Its a fill for life so I'm not bothered if theirs a few hundred mil left.

Hi All, I drained the oil from my gearbox and got 1.5 liters out, my book says 1.35, others say 2 liters, any one know for sure?

Ok, Chorley Nissan loooked it up and said 1.35 liters for my car, same as my handbook, I put 1.5 back as thats what came out.

Oh and if the wing nut is too tight to remove, take an old socket and run the angle grinder blade down the middle to make a slot then put on extension and undo, stops the risk of breaking the plastic wings.
