Also decided to bite the bullet and have the housing replaced at a local dealer for £420.

It may not help with this particular issue - but I spoke to someone I know at a major car rental firm.
They had taken delivery of new Nissan hybrid vehicles and are "having nothing but problems". One of them was driven off the forecourt and just stopped.
A meeting across the company is being organized to discuss what to do.

Just recording another one - my dads 2019 Qashqai overheated on the motorway. RAC replaced thermostat and got them on their way. 2 days later car won't start. Car recovered to Nissan dealer - needs new engine.
Thanks to this forum he went to Nissan armed with lots of information and knowing there were plenty of other cases out there. He bought from Nissan dealer and has had it serviced there as required by servicing schedule. Hoping the entire thing is covered by a "good will gesture" but waiting to hear.
I will update once we have a final outcome but I'm really posting to add another case so others have as much ammo as possible if they need it.

Thanks Glin17, sorry to hear of the issues your Dad has experienced and Good Luck with his 'claim' against Nissan.
I guess they'll only do the right thing if embarrassed in the media to do something.

My dealer cannot find the part number CD42A6, they said part numbers are usually 10 digits.
Can anyone advise? I obviously don't expect Nissan to be publishing it as a 'improved design' part, so maybe this isn't helping!

My booking quoted part number CD42A6 but my invoice listed the part as N110600260R.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, 1x N110600260R on order. They confirmed it supersedes 3 or 4 previous part numbers, so I think that corroborates some earlier comments here.
They wanted £275 to install it, where as a trusted local garage will do it for approx. £120, so guess where I'm going.....
Part was £145 exc. VAT

Similar issue as others on this page, 19 plate, 51K on clock, full service history but out of warranty by 3 months. Last service in October by main dealer. No prior warning of any issues. In outside lane doing 70+ when lost power, no warning lights or anything. Managed to limp to safety and when i pulled up, all the warning lights lit up and smoke/steam from bonnet. AA man identified fault as sheared coolant manifold. He said it shouldn't happen as manufactured in one piece but not the first time he has attended similar issue. Car towed to Nissan main dealer who have serviced car since new. They have reported back that the engine is a total right off. Without being prompted they offered me 2.4K as a good will gesture towards new engine costing nearly 10K. They suggested I complain to Nissan so it could be escalated. This i did and was surprised to hear that the 2.4K offer was from the dealer alone and not them. Complaint has been raised and I'm awaiting a response. I've also lodged complaint with Finance company. To be honest I'm still in shock but I find there immediate unprompted offer almost an admission of guilt.
