agree with trout, very poor 34sec video, lets see it on your car and working so we all know what were looking atosvaldo.przgl wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 10:46 pmIn the link to the Spanish forum, I explain how to install the sensor in an indicative way. The video shows an example of the operating principle.trout wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 3:19 pmAppreciate the video, but it doesn’t explain anything?osvaldo.przgl wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 11:37 pm Hello everyone, I follow you from Spain. I am a user of a Renault Kadjar Tce 1.3 with 160 HP, so I share the same engine as you. I have installed a capacitive sensor in the expansion vessel bottle to warn in case of loss of level. I leave you a link and videos about it so that you can do the same, since Renault and Nissan are not doing anything about it. I hope it is useful to you.

Really nice job! You shared it on my video as well but now I completely understand!
How / where did you fix the sensor itself? Could you show that as well?

I will edit the post, as I have to translate it little by little. I apologize for the quality of the images, but I am very busy at work and I am only taking time out when I am in the toilet
In the video you can see where I have passed the corrugated tube that carries the sensor cable to the interior of the passenger compartment through the area where the air filter is. In your vehicles you can compare that you only have one tube through the upper part of the radiator.
I will try to upload an explanatory video. I have mounted this sensor on the bottle, which detects when there is liquid and when there is not. When it does not detect the liquid, it sends a signal to the relay, which activates an alarm that I have inside the passenger compartment. To take the cable from the expansion tank to the passenger compartment, you have to remove the air filter and use a hole where several cables from the battery enter and give access to the clutch pedal area. If you look at the pedals you will see several cables that go to the fuse box. That is where I installed the box with the relay and the PC buzzer so that it sounds.
I leave you the connection diagram

Installation
This is the sensor installed in the bottle.
The red line describes the place where I passed the corrugated tube.
cable passage
On the left side of the clutch or brake, you can see the wiring through which we have to pass the cable from the engine area. From the air filter part, make a small hole with scissors in the soft area of the plastic and insert a guide with the cable.
detail of the box with the buzzer connected, I have put a box since I have a 3D printer, but you can use anything else that comes to mind
We take the 12 volts from the fuse of the heated seats or any other one in the left area that works under contact
switch to turn off the system
Relay
I designed the 3D piece myself, the sensor can be glued but I find this way more comfortable, I will upload the STL file in case someone wants it and can print it.

Please try to speak in English, as we are in an English forum and out of respect for them. Use a translator if you want. Answering your question, this only happens in this engine, in the DCI the thermostat is different and the only fault it has in the DCI is that it stays open and continuously lets the liquid through, so the vehicle does not reach the optimal operating temperature. I have been observing that the non-original parts that seem to be reinforced also break in that area. I have also read that in the thermostats that Mercedes mounts they have put a kind of Clip, I am asking to see if I can get true information on this. Greetings
Saludos

Why do you say that non-original "reinforced" versions also brake? Any picture or link to some forum?osvaldo.przgl wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 2:05 pm Please try to speak in English, as we are in an English forum and out of respect for them. It would be also interesting to see a picture of the Mercedes version with the clip...
