Can anyone identify the green cap shown on the photo? I have a diesel leak from the cap and cannot for the life of me find out if this cap should have diesel in it or what it’s purpose is. Diesel is being supplied by through the rudder pipe that it’s connected to it. The steel pipe is not leaking.

The car is a 2.0L DCI 2WD 2010
The photo is from an internet search of a Renault engine but its the same cap.. couldn’t really get a good photo from my engine.

Thanks for any help..

Welcome to this forum.

That looks to be an insulating cover of some kind simply clipped on over something else?

It does just clip over the steel pipe. No other inlet or outlet apart from the rubber hose.. the cover itself doesn’t appear to do anything!! Frustrating!!!
