Not an issue, just interested - but I've noticed when using cruise control on my 2010 QQ there are cerain speeds that I just cannot get the cruise to set too.

For example, I can have it set to 30mph, then by click up I can increment in 1mph stages, but say I just cannot get it to increment to 34mph

In each range, 20's, 30's 40's etc - there seems to be one speed that the car won't let you pick.

I'm not bothered by this - was just curious as to why and if anyone else had noticed this?

Thanks :D

Its a system mainly based on speed sensing. The ECU directly controls the MAF throttle controller from that.

Its actually 2 speed sensor inputs which if in conflict won't enable Cruise Control. And the causes for that are:

• Harness or connectors
(CAN Bus communication line is open or shorted.)
(Combination meter circuit is open or shorted.)
• Combination meter
• ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)
• Wheel sensor
• ECM

Yours could be some unique problem affecting specific speeds? Perhaps ECM firmware update?

I've always interpreted it's behaviour as being that it will let you increase it by a few but it won't just let you keep clicking and clicking unabated. I.e. an inbuilt limiter.

Thanks - it doesn't bother or affect me - was just curious if anyone else had noticed the same

Is it hard or advisable to update firmwares?

thx
