is there a way to know the current version of my ECU , so i can know if im up to date ? or not ?

I know i tried once, to drive while monitoring the temperatures of both sensors, and they return a value immediately after i start the engine.
I dont know how much time the ECU should give them to warm up, but unles its in milliseconds, it doesnt happen.

Also, those doc are talking about the Bosch 02 sensor, but will it be the same if i try another brand ?
The heater should operate quickly so that the engine is fuelled correctly especially when cold. This arises from new Emissions Regulations. Older cars were fuelled on a rich mixture until exhaust system was at correct temperature for 02 sensors to work.

You cannot find the revision of ECU firmware without Nissan agent test equipment and their help.....

5 wires = wideband type, probably Bosch.

You should ask for Nissan assistance on this where the O2 sensor fails too quickly. The problem maybe with the O2 heater controller or another cause?

Here's a technical update on O2 (lambda) sensors. More detail here: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=10434

Technical info/(types) - https://secure.lambdapower.co.uk/TechNo ... _index.asp

Diagnostics - https://secure.lambdapower.co.uk/diagno ... ex.asp#q18
....
Zirconia is the most common 02 Sensor and illustrates wiring colour codes (5 wire last).

5 wire Pump Cell:

A Planar Air Fuel Sensor is a combination of a standard Zirconium Oxide Oxygen sensor and a Pump Cell to maintain a constant sensing of a stoichiometric air fuel ratio through the extreme rich and lean conditions. The pump cell is a diffusion gap in the Zirconium Oxide of the sensor that is connected to a control circuit. The pump cell controls the oxygen concentration of the sensor by adding or subtracting oxygen to the diffusion gap. Input to the electronic circuit modifies the oxygen concentration by changing the polarity of the current flow in the pump cell. The changing polarity of the input and trim current flow causes the control circuit to send a rich or lean signal to the engine control module.

I was lucky enough to talk to the good person at my Nissan garage.
They finally proposed to make a free diagnosis, and if it was again the 02 sensor, they would deal with Nissan, so it's taken in charge, and if not, they would charge me for the diag.
It was again the 02 sensor, 5th in 4 years.
everything was free for me.
Thanks for your help !

Can you ask if Nissan have applied any software update to the ECU that controls the O2 sensor heater. Or any modification related.

Heater failure appears to be the common failure of 5 wire O2 sensors. Heater control is more complex than Oxygen sensing.

ok...I hope the ECU update included new software to better manage the O2 sensor heater...thats all.
