Hope someone could help.

I have had my 2017 j11 since 2019 and I have just come to fit a roof box and realised when I gave it a test shove that one of the roof rails is completly unsecured.

The rails are stock factory fitted items. I have removed the end cover without it breaking and found a loose yellow clip (someone been in here before?) and as you can see the rail lifts up a little showing two studs.

My assumption is that there should be something under the headliner retaining these?

Could anyone offer any advice thanks

The yellow clip is connected to the silver piece you took off, there should be a slot for it to slide in. It then goes in that hole when reattached.

Is it just that cap that's loose? or is it the whole rail?

Welcome to this forum

Looks like the internal nut connecting the rail to the roof is completely missing!
