Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Post by G6VNM »

Hi Folks,

First time Post here not under the best circumstances I'm afraid.

I have a brand new 2020 qashqai and have had a disagreement with a transit van (knocked my wing mirror off). The van was on my side of the road and the driver has admitted liability. However in all honesty given my insurance excess I am probably cheaper to source a replacement wing mirror on my own.

I have seen a 2016 mirror on ebay same colour etc but the seller says it will not fit my car. Can anyone on here advise if this is correct or not?

Thanks in advance
Gavin

Nissan have about £400 for a J11E QQ. Any diagrams we have are for J11A, so can't gauge any differences at all. No doubt it has been changed since 2016.

Also, not sure if the J11E one includes correct paint?

If liability is admitted won't the enemy get it done?

Update: An issue lies here:

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Perform camera image calibration (if equipped with around view camera). Refer to AV-181, "CALIBRATING CAMERA IMAGE (AROUND VIEW MONITOR) : Work Procedure".

Gavin, welcome to the Forum ! Take a look at this old post or use “Search” there might be some more facts there. Could the difference be for example : Auto Folding / Motor - Electrical Adjustment / Our new New Tekna + has the Auto Dipping Mirror when Reversing for example / Heating / Older J10 Model - Dave 🧐
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8304

Surely if he admitted liability he Pays ?

This information is from a Nissan Website you could play around with these : Models 2014 - 2017 / 2017 > Present
It does state the Year Model Differences eg 2017 > Present. Sorry cannot be more specific 🙏

It was a council worker and he never had all of the insurance details to hand I got his reg and his name. I won't be able to phone the council until tomorrow.

I have never made a claim before so not sure how to play it? Do I need to call my insurance or can they do everything through there own?

I just thought for the sake of £140 to replace (correct colour and in immaculate condition) then I would save on excess and insurance hike next year.

The nissan parts catalogue seems to say they will fit both 2013-2017 and 2017>.

But I was hoping someone could clarify.

Thanks for your replies so far. Most of the options you select on nissan parts say the same as this image. I think I might take a chance on the mirror from ebay.

Welcome to this forum.

In all honesty I would let the insurance companies fight it out between them but if the other driver has admitted liability you should be fine. You certainly won't have to pay any excess and I would hope it won't affect subsequent premiums since it won't be a claim on your policy. Worthwhile checking.

You haven't said what model you have - does it have 360 surround cameras?

If you look at this mirror it's claimed to be compatible with 2014-2020 implying there was no change at the Facelift.

I'm guessing you have a white car! :)

Gavin, and so it goes on ! Last night it came to mind that our mid 2014 QQ did not have Folding Mirrors when new and we had a Nissan Conversion Kit Installed. Our New Tekna + has these “Dipping” Reverse Mirrors, so are they all the same or are there differences that could cause problems.
I would think that the best way would be to double check what you want to buy by using your QQ “VIN” No. Confussing is not the word here, but willing to learn more ! 🧐
So Gavin over to You and Best of Luck let us Know how it goes - Dave 🥴

I checked again this morning and found different numbers : #96301HV09A / #96301HV08B both RH / #6302HV06B LH.
Could the number differences be related to the Kit Parts for eg with or without cables as shown ?
Then comes the Older J10 QQ / +2 Models : #96301BR22A RH / #96302BR22A

There are numbers on eBay parts like : 963014ea6b (2014) or ea0b !

There is likely a need for wing mirror camera test + calibration. That requires the Nissan workshop setup and special tools. Best to approach insurance company because non of this stuff is cheap.
