Newbie question about Android head unit and Map live data

Hi all

Possibly a very stupid question.

Getting Sony XAV-AX3250

and am getting myself confused as to how parts work.

In order to get live updates I presume it must have Internet connection (presume live traffic doesn't come over GPS) , therefore it must be paired to my wife's mobile?

I presume in order to download apps (eg google maps) to the Sony, again it must use her phones data hence has to be paired?

What my wife wants when she's driving

Satnav using google maps with live traffic
Audible App
DAB radio

What she doesn't want under any circumstance is to receive any phone calls.

Is this all possible please?

I would pop in to your local halford store and see if they have the display model up and running you can mess about with it as much as you like then without spending money 1st

I stupidly thought when I upgraded the headunit, it had built in satnav, but it takes it off your phone
