Hi All

Newbie here..

Current stereo attached what do you recommend to upgrading to

Does the new facestyle stereo plug and play?
What aftermarket stereo is good?
Or what sat navs are half decent and good value?

Thanks all

Welcome to this forum.

I'm not familiar with the J10 model much since I had a J11 but this looks like a standard 2-DIN size so replacement should be relatively straightforward, but you'd need to source Nissan connectors. Do you have a reversing camera to consider too?

Dasaita.com has what you need. Talk to them concerning if you have Bose speakers, rear view camera and so on.
All wiring, connectors are included. It's plug and play. Wireless Carplay and Android Auto.

Does anyone know if bose speakers can be retrofitted or is it not worth the headache?

You have a choice of going aftermarket or other J10 head units, or early J11, but make sure they have similar connector on the rear. That is the biggest problem with Nissan headunits, poor integration and plug and play compared to other manufacturers.

Have j10 07 teckni
Radio intermittent mostly works or SECURE 90% , fail cd fail twice , sat nav dvd fail
Rubbish trying to replace basically a new unit double din , been told you will loose steering controls and have to sort reversing camera as it is 6 volts not 12volts , problem radio not working to identify live or switched live in boot ,
Also have a head up unit above. really not looking forward to tackling it .
Radio reversing cam works one in ten

I had to change my 6 discs changed for another one, as the previous owners put coins in the CD slot and I had to open it completely, but they damaged it. Nissan did the looms to fit the stereo and are not the best for plug and play. So fitting another Nissan headunit does not work as easy. One of the reasons why many seems to have gone for aftermarket Chinese brands like Junsun.
My reverse cam works, although if I want to use it with my new Kenwood, I need a reverse cam volt converter, plus I would need to re-do loom lead to front because the Nissan one is in the boot then merges into the satnav loom at NAV unit under the seat.

I may end up getting rid of my Qashqai in 2023 or 2024 and getting a Lexus RX400, I am put of by the mk2 J11 and mk3 J12 due to the constant amount of problems I have seen many people post on here with them. It is worst than many other cars and is showing its Renault roots. The only thing is they look nice and stylish, but after that, the functionality is a bit of a joke.
