Parking brake not auto applying

As the title says, my parking brake doesn't always auto apply.

I have the new J12 and sometimes when I park outside my house, same spot every time, the parking brake applies regularly, but every so often it doesn't and I can't seem to figure out if it's meant to be like that or if it's a fault.

Im asking for advice as the manual has all these requirements but seeing as it happens in the same parking spot and it's random, I'm just wondering if I'm going out of my mind.

I put the car in the same place every time, engine off, seatbelt off, door open then always look at the parking brake to see if it has gone on. Gear always switched to "P" and auto hold button is always on.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something?

Apart from that the car seems fine.

The system on my J11b (67 plate) can do that periodically and is sometimes too slow to release. Quirky logic within? Mechanical switches...and so on.

Cannot rely on automation 100% so often I pull the brake switch up..

I never had any such issues with my J11 - always worked as expected.
