Alarm symbol
Can anyone help me. Now I know this may be a stupid question but owned the car for 3 years now and it's a 2015 plate Qashqai. I set the alarm tonight and noticed that the alarm symbol flashed quickly and then blinked on and off afterwards. Never noticed before but was very dark and may have always done this. Is this normal? Stays flashing until I unlock the car

It’s perfectly normal.
When you first lock the car, the NATS security warning light will blink rapidly for 15-20 seconds before calming down and blinking less frequently, as you have observed.
It’s Nissan’s version of an active alarm system. Some manufacturers have a red blinking LED on the rear-view mirror, others on the drivers door, some on the aerial on the roof (MINI).
The new Qashqai (J12/Mark 3) no longer has a flashing red light
