Hi

I was driving my J11B Tekna in twilight conditions.
I had my headlights on ( LED )
The road was narrow as was the very limited pavement.

A chap in a yellow HiVis was standing on said pavement , and at no point did he look like he was going to step off the curb.

However as I approached - the brakes slammed on - WOW wasn't expecting that , it was quite un-nerving to say the least

That is scary. Thankfully another car wasn't close behind you, this could very easily have led to a rear end collision.
I'm not familiar with the QQ, I'm awaiting delivery of my J12. Is this something that you can turn off? If you can turn it off, will the system remember this or do you have to turn it off everytime you start the car again?
Regardless, I'm so happy this didn't end in disaster for you.

Has anything like this ever happened to you or anyone else before?

It seems to me that the front collision avoidance "radar" is highly sensitive.
I have noted that heading towards a sharp bend or even rapidly towards a shallow bend - if the system thinks you appear to be heading towards a collision, it applies the brakes.
I believe it triggers the brake lights but can’t prove that.

This system has saved me from a really bad accident and despite the quirks, I’m happy to leave it alone.

It does, would be very dangerous otherwise. ;)
