Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Post by Mark65 »

Hi All,
Im Mark and Im new to the forum, Ive had Nissans for a long time starting with my first car a Datsun Cherry 100A F2 and ending with an Almera Mk2.
I had a try with Hyundai, an i30 for 12 months with the engine vibration at 2k rpm then a Tucson for a month that turned out to have had a respray down the side which AC say they new nothing about and it also suffered from Hyundai/Kia sticky steering and the engine vibration at 1800rpm, so it was returned and I traded the i30 in on a 2019 QQ Acenta Premium diesel with adblue.
I really like the QQ but cannot update the software 0804 by any wifi and the map update i did by usb is still 2017, can the software be done by usb and are these the latest maps?.
Thanks for any advice. Image

Mark

Why can't you update the software via WiFi? At what point can you get no further

Hi, Thanks for your reply, Ive used a wifi ext from my house and tried my phone with a hot spot, it just says downloading and nothing happens, Ive done on a 45 minute drive and 30 min in front of house with it like this.
I reset te settings on the unit and it took my blue tooth straight away but now its struggling to connect to my phone with wi fi.
I wondered if the unit needed an update as my phone tries to connect to android auto but the car doesn't see it, so ive ordered a new usb cable.

Welcome to this forum.

Android Auto connections on a range of cars is always flaky, and seems to be very dependent on cable quality.

Hi, I thought so, Its not something I really need, I do get DAB drop outs so i was hoping there is a software update to cure that, not many so Im not sure if its the way dab works, I've not had it before in a car.
I did the map update on the site I saw on here but they seem very old that's why I thought of the android auto and google maps.

These are my versions on my 2020 Tekna+

Software Version 0821 originally updated sitting outside my house using my WiFi.

Map Version 15041_0_7

Updated using the map update tool and usb stick via my laptop. One excellent piece of advice I was given on this forum was to use the 'full map reset' option whenever updating the maps. This method has always worked for me.

Hi Mark,

If you used the map update tool via your computer how did you update the maps without using a usb stick, or am I misreading your post.

Hi Chris, I used the map update tool and put them on a usb, I also tried WiFi tonight as well both said I had the latest maps.
I also tried the software download by WiFi to my phone and it just stayed on downloading again.

Thanks

Hi Mark,
