Stop/Start System Fault Message

Hi everyone, ex Nissan technician here.

Hopefully going to help a few people out with this issue. So there is an issue with the 1.2L engines regarding the P0090 code and stop start faults. The Nissan procedure normally points to the high pressure fuel pump, however that isn’t the case. It’s usually down to a stretched timing chain.

Have replaced a few chains on cars with this issue and every time they’ve cured the problem.

Hi, thanks, there should be a warning sign outside every Nissan dealership about the 1.2 engine, saved my father in law from buying one, I told him about the issues and he went back to Nissan and they admitted a few problems with them, drives a Kia Sportage now.
