Hi folks,

Happy new year to you all.

I wondered if anyone had a similar issue to what I’m experiencing at present?

In the past two days I have been having a couple of issues. The first is I am unable to lock my car using the key fob, as it makes the warning noise that indicates either my doors aren’t correctly closed or the key fob is in the car (both of which aren’t the case, as I have opened and re-closed all the doors and the key is in my hand!)

The last issue is with the auto hold brake, upon starting the car and driving away the auto hold break doesn’t appear to be working, the light doesn’t appear on the dashboard and the only way to get it working again is by switching the engine off and on again. It then begins to work again.

Anybody any advice on what it could be, I’m thinking it could be the cars battery that needs changing, as my car will be 3 years old in a couple of weeks and so far hasn’t suffered from the notorious battery issues!

Cheers

Mike

That could be Battery problems. If you have warranty remaining on the car the best idea is get booked into Nissan for a check relating to these issues.

Are both Key fobs showing this problem?
Is the Battery the FIAMM make? If so its very unreliable.

Yeah battery issues was my first thought.

It does happen with both keys and the battery is the FIAMM make, so I considered myself lucky to have not needed to change it so far!

It’s booked in for its service and first MOT in a week or so. So I’ll get Nissan to check it out.

Thanks for the help! 👍🏻

Hi Mike,

Did you understand the cause of the problem?

Hi,

It turned out to be the battery as a day or so later it was completely dead.

So you may need to charge your battery or get a replacement!
