Many tyre dealers are now offering TPMS replacement; a new revenue source for them.

hI guys, an update for you, I contacted Nissan to see if there was anywhere I could have the car checked for peace of mind, they emailed me to say I have breakdown/recovery cover with the car and gave me a number to ring, within one hour an RAC mechanic arrived and this is part of the report "Comments Suspected Diagnosis – Verify all diagnosis with your preferred repairer prior to any work being completed or ordering any parts
checked for reported fault of tyre presure light coming on. found incorrect tyre valves fitted with no sensor", so back to the dealers once things are backto normal, thank you all for your help and advice, I appreciate it very much

If your'e bothered by the pressures get yourself a digital tyre pressure gauge...online shop. I got one of the Michelin versions (£10-ish) to assist calibrating each tyre. I also have a small 12v battery powered air pump...not a cheapo really at about £45.
Its a bit of a faff pumping/deflating tyres and reading off the TPMS values. I suspect TPMS flags errors at about 10% over/under pressure.
I'm not too happy about forecourt air pumps...so the setup above gets me well away from that.

thanks cainorth, I have a non digital pressure gauge, have had it for years plus battery powered pump, recently went to a garage to use theirs when I was checking my pressure every day when tying to sort out the problem I had, just to double check my gauge
