Drilled Brake Disc recommendation?

Hi all, my brake discs are overcome with rust and I’m looking to swap them with some aftermarket discs drilled and grooved etc. Has anyone fitted any and could recommend? As far as I can see the choice is Black Diamond or Zimmerman? Any others? Any thoughts on either of these?

Thanks

Tekno, if you do not mind may I ask the reason for your choice of going away from the Nissan Std.,is it to improve Braking Performance or just for the Looks ?
Attached are some comments and information on your question which might be worth a read - Dave 😉

“In addition, slotted and drilled surfaces are better than plain discs at regulating temperature during braking. By channelling away the heat generated between the braking surfaces of disc and pad, they improve the performance of the entire braking system”.
“Unlike standard brake discs drilled discs offer more grip, allowing you to brake harder and faster. ... The addition of the holes in the disc increases the friction coefficient between the brake pads and the brake disc. This increase can be felt most during the initial phase of braking”.

Thanks guys, it is purely for looks as std are good enough for a 1.5 dci. I’ve always added small touches to my cars just to differentiate hopefully tastefully, from the next. More and more cars are coming from the factory now with drilled discs and coloured callipers.

Doing the same on my other car I was surprised that drilled were not much more than standard and they were fully coated so hopefully delaying the rust!

Tekno, do you mean this sort of thing ! After discussing this modification with the wife and getting the Nod I discussed it with the Service Mgr. & Sales Guy and they done the rest - Brake Strip Down, Clean, Spray Nissan Yellow, Re-Assemble with Nissan Centre Caps. IMHO it turned out pretty well, but it cost - Dave 👍😉

Yes but with drilled discs it adds further to the looks so when you’re due some new discs I’d recommend you find some drilled ones too. That looks nice mate. I’ll prob try doing the callipers myself with a brush will post a pic if it looks good haha!

Tekno, I am pretty sure I will never need new Discs due to the low mileage covered and changing vehicles, but good idea.
I am not sure if you have attempted painting the Discs before, I did try years ago and it was a Pain. You need to cover all the unwanted parts that do not need coloring with Tape and this is time consuming. Then comes the Hand Painting or Spray Painting ( Over Spray ) is a Big Problem it gets everywhere and a lot of masking is needed. These are just some comments, but give it a Go !
Even got Chinese Rental E-Scooters NUU in Berlin with Vented Discs 😋
Best of Luck let us know how it goes - Dave 👍

Although some may think drilled/slotted disks (on a Qushqai) make the car look better, anyone who knows about cars will think this as a W*nk*r. It's a bit like the kid who puts an M Badge onto a BMW 1.6, or the guy driving down the road blaring music out loud thinking he's cool. Who really wants to be that bloke?

But, at the end of the day, if it makes someone happy, then it's money worth spending, just remember to only ask your friends what they really think. Because you won't like the answer from someone who knows about brakes, fast cars etc. Maybe ask a hairstylist, or the 17-year-old pushing working at B&Q.

Painting callipers is good for aesthetics. Would cost so little for a manufacturer to get it done and would stop so many cars looking tatty after a few years. Maybe go for a Blue or black though. Yellow is strictly for boy racers ;)
